With over 2,000 local websites already listed and the list is continually expanding.

17, July 2008 - Taking Villages Online to the next level.

Whilst the site has been quietly receiving new site on a daily basis. Behind the scenes we have been doing months of planning on taking the site to the next level and making it more useful.

This week some small changes have and are being made to the site, making way for even bigger changes.

So far we have started to update the homepage, we have removed advertising from the top right to make way for your content (more info on that soon) and started checking the listed sites for dead links, now that we have over 2000 listed this does take time.

New features already in the pipeline will be appearing soon are the new forum which will start off small, but become a main part of the site, used in many areas. The search is coming back too, and will become useful with all the new content that’s on the way.

The webmasters section will shortly become an webmaster only area, that can only be viewed by people who have a site listed on Villages Online. This is because we want to provide more useful content to the community of local webmasters.

The rest of the site will allow local communities to promote themselves in new and unique ways. We are building the community spirit on this site, like you have in your area. We're sorry that we have to keep the details quiet at the moment, but this is what will take the site to new levels and promote your websites even more.

We are not doing this for our benefit. We are doing this for you. This site will become yours and what you make of it.
